Step by step guide on using TentPlanner
Click on the Structures button in the menu bar.
From the drop down list select your structure type and size required.
To position your tent at the event location zoom out by clicking the ’-‘ button until you see the Venue Postcode box. Enter your postcode and click ‘Go’
Drag the background until your structure is in the desired location. You might find it helpful to zoom out as far as possible first.
You can now zoom in a little to position the structures, either by dragging the background or individual structures. You can also rotate structures by clicking and holding down the rotate symbol.
Please note that depending on your location the scale of the equipment may not be 100% accurate. Google images use the Mercator projection of the earth, which makes objects appear larger the further away from the equator they are. We have set the sizing to be correct for the Midlands, further south structures will appear slightly oversized and further north they will appear slightly undersized.
Zoom in by clicking the ‘+’ button to start planning. The background image isn’t available on high zoom levels, so it will disappear. Your background will reappear once you zoom out again. When zoomed out so that the background is available it can be toggled on and off using the eyes.
Add additional items by clicking on the menu button for the required equipment type. Click on the ‘+’ to expand the sub-menu. Click and drag you object into place.
The first time you add a piece of equipment you will see a pop-up message prompting you to enter your Venue Postcode. Click ‘Got it’ to proceed.
You can move objects on the planner by clicking on the object and dragging it into position with your mouse.

You can add as much equipment as you like. Choose from a range of objects including furniture, dance floors, bars and even external equipment like toilets, generators and landscaping
As you add equipment that has seating associated with it you will see a seat count at the bottom right of the screen. Please be careful not to “lose” furniture – it is possible that furniture may get accidentally stacked on top of each other, or if you have moved your structure a long way you might have left behind furniture which is no longer visible but is still in the seat count.
To ensure you leave enough space for your guests, some objects have a safe zone around them shown in light blue. Try to avoid overlapping these, but bear in mind it is for guidance only.
Don’t press the back button on your browser as your plan does not automatically save and your progress will be lost.
Once you have finished your design, Click on ‘Submit Plan’. Complete the contact form and press ‘Send’. This will send your design to us so that we can provide you with a quotation.

When in the planning tool if you need to view the tutorial again click on the ‘Help’ button. To return to your design click ‘Let’s get planning’.
Why? It's best to position a tent correctly before adding furniture, as if you move/ rotate it later you will also need to move the furniture.
